Nach dem Besuch der Volksschule Itter (Tirol) und dem Bundesrealgymnasium Wörgl maturierte sie 1986 an der Höheren Bundeslehranstalt für wirtschaftliche Frauenberufe in Innsbruck. Nach einem Auslandsjahr in den USA und Kanada studierte sie 1987 bis 1992 Politikwissenschaft sowie Publizistik und Kommunikationswissenschaft an der Universität Salzburg und schloss dieses als Magistra ab.
Noch vor ihrer Tätigkeit in der Hilfswerk-Geschäftsführung war sie von 1997 bis 2008 Politische Trainerin mit den Schwerpunkten Gemeinden und Frauen und von 2001 bis 2008 Leiterin der Familien- und Sozialzentren des Hilfswerks in der Stadt Salzburg und im Flachgau.
1992 erfolgte der Eintritt in die Politik als Stadtgeschäftsführerin der ÖVP Salzburg. Seit 2009 ist sie Mitglied im Landesvorstand der ÖVP Frauen Salzburg. Weitere politische Karriereschritte waren Bezirksobmann-Stellvertreterin des ÖAAB Flachgau (seit 2013) und Landesobmann-Stellvertreterin des ÖAAB Salzburg (2014 bis 2018 und seit 2019). Seit 2013 und bis zu ihrer Angelobung als Landesrätin war Gutschi Abgeordnete zum Salzburger Landtag für die ÖVP, davon seit 2015 Klubobfrau des ÖVP-Landtagsklubs.
Daniela Gutschi engagiert sich in zahlreichen ehrenamtlichen Funktionen in den Bereichen Kultur, Bildung und Soziales, unter anderem für das DomQuartier, das Museum der Moderne, das Haus der Natur und das Keltenmusem, im Orchester- und Theaterausschuss sowie bei der Jugendhilfe.
Seit 3. Februar 2021 ist sie Landesrätin für Bildung, Naturschutz und Nationalpark in der Salzburger Landesregierung. 2023 wurde sie wiedergewählt und ist in der Regierung für Bildung, Gesundheit, Frauen, Diversität und Chancengleichheit zuständig.
Biography in English
Daniela Gutschi was born on June 18th, 1967 in Kitzbühel (Tyrol). She is married to Johann Gutschi and has two children (Johanna Viola, b. 1995, and Valentin, b. 1998). Before she was sworn in as state minister, she worked as managing director of Hilfswerk Salzburg, a non-profit-making organization, since 2008.
After primary school in Itter and secondary school in Wörgl she passed her school leaving exam at the Höhere Bundeslehranstalt für wirtschaftliche Frauenberufe in Innsbruck (all three in Tyrol). She spent a year abroad in the United States and Canada followed by successfully studying political science and communication studies at Salzburg University from 1987 to 1992.
Before becoming managing director of Hilfswerk she worked as political trainer specializing on communities and women from 1997 to 2008 and she was in charge of Hilfswerk’s family and social centers in the city of Salzburg as well as the surrounding district from 2001 to 2008.
She entered into politics in 1992 as city manager of the Österreichische Volkspartei (ÖVP). Further steps in her political career included vice district chairperson (since 1992) and vice chairperson of the Österreichischer Arbeiter- und Angestelltenbund (ÖAAB) for Salzburg (from 2014 to 2018 and since 2019). Gutschi served as elected member of the Salzburg regional parliament (Landtag) for the ÖVP since 2013 and as parliamentary party chairwoman since 2015.
Daniela Gutschi holds several voluntary functions in the cultural, educational and social public sector such as the DomQuartier, the Museum der Moderne, the Haus der Natur, and the Keltenmusem, in the orchestra and theater committee as well as in youth welfare.
Since February 3rd, 2021 she is state minister for education, nature protection and national park affairs in the Salzburg regional government. She was reelected in 2023 and is responsible for education, public health, women, diversity and equal opportunities.
