Salzburg - the "small paradise"

Salzburg is one of the smaller lands in Austria but it generates a considerable proportion of the net economic product earned from tourism. Hundreds and thousands of visitors from all over the world come here throughout the year to visit the “small-scale paradise” that is Salzburg. A very sophisticated blend of attractions can be found here: unspoilt countryside with unique landscapes, such as the Hohe Tauern National Park; the beautiful baroque jewel of the old town centre of Salzburg, which is a UNESCO world heritage site, and countless fascinating sites in the communities. Salzburg is equally popular as a winter and summer holiday destination.

Nevertheless Salzburg is inseparably associated with its world famous festivals, Mozart, music and its reputation for being a city of culture. Performances at the Salzburg Festival, the Salzburg Landestheater, concerts by the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra and the range of events presented by many other organisers in the city and land are always a good reason for stopping off in Salzburg.
